Product Overview

Galvanised steel heavy-duty restraint strap with a 1200mm length and factory-formed 150mm bend, designed for structural anchorage in timber and masonry construction.

Manufactured from pre-galvanised mild steel, this strap provides secure load restraint where higher strength and rigidity are required. It is ideal for vertical or horizontal restraint applications where the bent end allows fixing to perpendicular wall or joist surfaces.

The factory-formed 90° bend positioned 150mm from the end enables direct fixing to vertical or horizontal structural members, ensuring correct alignment and secure anchorage. Precision-punched holes allow uniform fixing to timber, blockwork, or concrete.

With its corrosion-resistant galvanised finish, the strap offers long-term durability for internal and sheltered external applications.

The 1200mm heavy-duty strap delivers extended reach and superior load capability, making it suitable for high-strength restraint applications and wide-span structural connections.

Features & Benefits

  • Galvanised steel: Formed from heavy-gauge pre-galvanised mild steel for maximum strength and corrosion resistance.
  • Bend configuration: Factory-formed 90° bend positioned 150mm from the end allows secure fixing to perpendicular surfaces in wall or roof restraint.
  • Fixing holes: Pre-punched at regular intervals for uniform load transfer and secure connection.
  • Corrosion protection: Zinc coating prevents rust and degradation in service.
  • Structural reliability: Suitable for restraint of heavy-duty roof members, wall plates, and joists.
  • Length: 1200mm length with 150mm bend provides extended reach and improved load distribution across large restraint spans.

Applications

  • Roof restraint: Provides secure anchorage for wall plates, rafters, or trussed rafters.
  • Floor restraint: Connects timber joists to masonry or concrete structures for lateral stability.
  • Wall restraint: Ties internal and external walls or partitions to the main structural frame.
  • General heavy-duty fixing: Suitable for wide-span or high-strength restraint where increased strap length is required.

Installation Guidance

  • Fixing method: Secure with appropriate heavy-duty nails, screws, or bolts through pre-punched holes.
  • Orientation: Install flat against the substrate for optimal bearing and strength.
  • Support alignment: Ensure correct engagement of the bent end to the fixing surface for load efficiency.
  • Fixing spacing: Typical vertical spacing 2m apart or as specified by structural design.
  • Fastener selection: Use stainless or galvanised fixings compatible with strap coating.
  • Modification: Avoid on-site cutting or re-bending to preserve galvanised protection and strength integrity.

Compliance & Performance

  • Material standard: Manufactured from galvanised steel to BS EN 10346 DX51D + Z275.
  • Load suitability: Designed for heavy-duty restraint applications in accordance with BS 5268-3.
  • Corrosion resistance: Zinc coating equivalent to 275 g/m² for enhanced long-term protection.
  • Manufacturing quality: Produced under controlled conditions for dimensional accuracy and hole spacing.
  • Important note: Always confirm correct strap duty, length, and configuration before installation in structural restraint applications.

How delivery works

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

Delivery areas

Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.

If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.

What to expect on delivery day

  • Deliveries are typically kerbside.
  • Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
  • Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.

Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery

Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.

Returns

Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
