Why Black Drywall Screws?

  • Corrosion Resistance: Black drywall screws feature a phosphate coating that helps prevent rust and corrosion.
  • Flush Finish: Bugle head design allows for a flush finish, reducing the risk of tearing the paper on drywall and ensuring a clean, professional look.
  • Sharp Point: Enables secure and efficient penetration into surfaces, making the installation process quicker and more efficient.
  • Cost-Effective: Available in large quantities - budget-friendly option for high-volume jobs.

Why 100mm?

  • Used to fix thicker/multiple layers of drywall to framing and studs.
  • Offers superior holding power compared to shorter screws.

Why Coarse Thread?

  • Effectively fixes drywall (plasterboard) to timber studs.
  • Widely spaced grooves grip the gypsum when inserted, preventing the risk of stripping, which is when the threads of the screw or the material become damaged, causing the screw to lose grip and making it difficult to drive or remove.
  • Larger thread pitch requires fewer rotations to drive the screw fully into the material, speeding up the installation process, especially when using a power tool.
  • Efficient anchorage even in the presence of natural wood irregularities like knots or grain patterns.
  • Sharp point aids in quick penetration, reducing the initial driving torque needed to insert into the substrate.

(W-Type)

The term "W-type" when referring to coarse-thread screws is typically used in the context of the Unified Thread Standard (UTS) or Unified Inch Thread (UN) system. The "W" in this case stands for "Wider" or "Wide", referring to the wider, more aggressive thread pitch found in coarse-thread screws compared to fine-thread screws.

Why Uncollated?

  • Individual screws that are not pre-assembled in strips or coils.
  • Allows more control over the exact placement of each screw and the force with which they are driven.
  • Ideal for small repairs or installations, such as hanging shelves, installing small fixtures, or attaching drywall to studs.

Applications

  • Fixing Plasterboard to Wood Framing: Perfect for attaching drywall to wooden studs or joists.
  • Wall Installation: Suitable for creating smooth, flat walls.
  • Ceiling Applications: Can be used in ceilings to secure drywall.

Benefits

  • Bugle Head: The bugle head design compresses both the gypsum and paper lining as the screws are driven in.
  • High Quantity: Supplied in a box of 500, they are convenient for large projects, reducing the need for frequent reordering.
  • Compatibility: Works well with a standard Phillips bit for easy installation.
