Product Overview
13mm Wafer Head Self Drilling Drywall Screws designed for fixing drywall tracking and metal components to light-gauge steel frameworks.
Each screw is manufactured from hardened carbon steel and finished with a protective black phosphate coating that provides light corrosion resistance and a clean, low-glare surface.
The wafer head delivers a broad bearing area that distributes pressure evenly, minimising surface deformation and providing secure seating against thin metal sections.
An integrated self-drilling point eliminates the need for pilot drilling, enabling quick, consistent fastening through steel up to 2.0mm thick. The fully threaded shank ensures firm engagement and stable fixing across contact surfaces.
13mm compact fixings designed for precision work in drywall framing, partitions, and metal-to-metal connections.
Features & Benefits
- Material: Hardened carbon steel provides strength and consistent driving performance.
- Corrosion resistance: Black phosphate coating resists oxidation in dry interior conditions.
- Head design: Wafer head offers a large bearing surface for secure clamping without damaging thin sheet metal.
- Drill point: Integrated self-drilling tip removes the need for pre-drilling, improving installation speed.
- Thread type: Fully threaded design ensures positive grip and structural stability.
- Drive type: Phillips drive enables fast and controlled installation using standard driver bits.
- Nominal size: 13mm length.
- Box quantity: Supplied in a box of 1000 for efficient coverage of large projects.
Applications
- Drywall metal framework: Secure fixing of track and channel sections in steel stud systems.
- Partition walls and ceilings: Fast attachment of framework components in interior builds.
- Commercial and residential construction: Suitable for light structural and fit-out applications.
- Metal-to-metal fixing: Ideal for joining thin-gauge steel where pre-drilling is impractical.
Installation Guidance
- Drive type: Use a Phillips No.2 bit for stable engagement and reduced cam-out.
- Speed setting: Drive at medium to high speed for effective self-drilling into steel.
- Pressure control: Apply steady pressure to maintain clean drilling action without stripping threads.
- Depth setting: Seat the wafer head flush to the metal surface without over-tightening.
Compliance & Performance
- Manufacturing reference: Produced in accordance with EN 14566 for mechanical fasteners for gypsum plasterboard systems.
- Finish: Black phosphate coating suitable for interior, dry conditions.
- Performance: Self-drilling tip capable of penetrating steel sections up to 2.0mm thickness.
- Safety: Always wear eye protection and ensure material stability during installation.
- Important note: Not suitable for exterior or high-moisture environments.

How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
