What is the IG L1/S100 Cavity Wall Lintel 1950mm?

IG L1/S100 Cavity Wall Lintel 1950mm is a high-strength, insulated lintel designed for bridging window and door openings in cavity wall construction. Manufactured from high-quality, pre-galvanised mild steel, it offers excellent durability and resistance to corrosion, ensuring longevity and performance in various environmental conditions.

Featuring a distinctive 'top hat' profile, the lintel is specifically engineered to provide superior load-bearing capacity while reducing thermal bridging through its fully insulated core. Additionally, the lintel is equipped with perforations on the inner flange, which act as a plaster key, simplifying the installation process and ensuring a smooth, secure attachment for plaster.

Where is the IG L1/S100 Cavity Wall Lintel 1950mm Used?

IG L1/S100 Cavity Wall Lintel 1950mm is designed for use in load-bearing cavity wall applications where there is a need to span openings for doors and windows. It is compatible with cavity widths between 90mm and 105mm, making it adaptable to various wall thicknesses.

The lintel is commonly used in:

  • Load-bearing cavity walls: Providing critical support for the structure above window and door openings, distributing the weight of the masonry.
  • Cavity wall construction: Ideal for use in residential and commercial buildings, where the lintel bridges gaps in cavity walls to ensure the stability of the overall structure.
  • Energy-efficient buildings: The integrated insulation reduces thermal bridging, helping to meet thermal performance standards set by UK Building Regulations.

IG L1/S100 Cavity Wall Lintel 1950mm Benefits

  • Superior Structural Integrity: The 'top hat' profile enhances the lintel's strength, making it ideal for load-bearing applications. It ensures stability and reliability for both residential and commercial buildings.
  • Thermal Efficiency: The fully insulated core minimises the risk of thermal bridging, improving the overall thermal performance of the building. This feature helps maintain internal temperatures and reduces the risk of heat loss, contributing to greater energy efficiency and lower heating costs.
  • Corrosion-Resistant: Manufactured from high-quality pre-galvanised mild steel, the lintel offers outstanding resistance to corrosion, ensuring long-term durability even in harsh or damp conditions.
  • Versatile Application: The IG L1/S100 lintel is designed to fit cavity widths ranging from 90mm to 105mm, providing flexibility across a wide variety of construction types.
  • Simplified Installation: The perforated inner flange not only helps secure plasterwork but also ensures that the lintel is easy to install, saving time and effort on-site.
  • Energy Savings: By reducing the potential for cold bridging, the IG L1/S100 lintel helps improve the overall thermal efficiency of the building. This translates to better insulation, improved comfort for building occupants, and a reduction in the need for excessive heating or cooling, leading to significant energy savings over time.

How delivery works

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

Delivery areas

Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.

If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.

What to expect on delivery day

  • Deliveries are typically kerbside.
  • Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
  • Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.

Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery

Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.

Returns

Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
