How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.

Product Overview
Fermacell Fine Surface Treatment supplied in a 10L container. This ready-to-use dispersion filler is formulated for fine finishing and joint filling of Fermacell Gypsum Fibre Boards and other interior wall or ceiling substrates.
Designed to produce a smooth, even surface, it achieves high-quality Q3 and Q4 finish standards where superior surface uniformity is required prior to decoration. The product offers a creamy, easily workable consistency with strong adhesion and excellent sanding characteristics.
Suitable for both manual and mechanical application, it ensures efficient coverage, quick preparation, and a flawless final surface ready for paint or wall coverings.
Features & Benefits
- Ready-to-use formulation: Pre-mixed dispersion material requires no on-site blending, saving time and labour.
- Easy application: Smooth, creamy texture spreads evenly using a trowel or spatula with extended open time for adjustment.
- High-quality finish: Produces very fine surface structure suitable for Q3 and Q4 grade finishes.
- Excellent adhesion: High bond strength to gypsum fibreboards and other solid mineral substrates.
- Simple reusability: Container can be resealed after use; product remains workable for subsequent applications.
- Durable surface: Dries to a dense, hard finish that resists cracking and surface crazing.
- Safe composition: Solvent-free, emission-free, and plasticiser-free for improved indoor air quality.
- Container volume: 10 litres providing extensive coverage for large wall and ceiling areas.
Applications
- Gypsum fibreboard finishing: Designed specifically for Fermacell Gypsum Fibre Boards to create a fine decorative surface.
- Joint and surface treatment: Fills joints, minor irregularities, and surface pores before painting or wallpapering.
- Interior walls and ceilings: Suitable for smooth finishing of residential, commercial, and institutional interiors.
- Alternative substrates: Can also be applied to sound gypsum plasterboard, concrete, and masonry surfaces.
Installation Guidance
- Preparation: Ensure substrate is clean, sound, dry, and free from dust. Apply only at temperatures above +5°C.
- Application: Use a Fermacell spatula or similar stainless-steel trowel; apply in layers not exceeding 0.5mm.
- Sanding: Once dry, sand lightly with 100–120 grit paper to achieve a smooth finish; remove dust before further coating.
- Drying time: Dependent on substrate, layer thickness, ambient temperature, and humidity.
- Safety: Wear goggles and a mask during sanding operations; dry spatulas thoroughly after cleaning to prevent corrosion.
Compliance & Performance
- Material type: Ready-to-use dispersion filler designed for gypsum fibreboard and mineral substrates.
- Finish quality: Suitable for Q3 and Q4 level finishes in accordance with surface quality classifications.
- Workability: Long open time for easy application and levelling.
- Environmental compliance: Solvent-free, plasticiser-free, and low-VOC for safe indoor environments.
- Important note: Apply in thin layers; do not exceed 0.5mm thickness per coat to maintain adhesion and drying performance.
