Preparation and Application Tips
To achieve optimal results with Evo-Stik Gripfill Xtra, follow these steps:
Preparation
- Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants.
- Remove any paint or debris that could affect adhesion.
- For porous surfaces, apply a primer and allow it to dry. We recommend using Bostik PVA (diluted 1:5 with clean water), allowing it to dry thoroughly before application.
Application
- Use the appropriate extruder and cut the nozzle for a controlled bead.
- Apply a 6mm bead in a zig-zag pattern for best results.
- Press surfaces together firmly for 30 seconds; support may be needed for 24 hours.
Cleaning
- Uncured adhesive can be removed with white spirit.
- Cured adhesive requires mechanical removal methods (cutting, sanding, scraping).
