Product Overview
Everbuild B2 Fire Rated Expanding Foam is a one-component polyurethane foam designed for professional application using a foam gun. It provides a medium-performance fire-resistant seal for construction joints, service penetrations, door frames, and window surrounds, forming a durable barrier against flame, smoke, and air movement for up to two hours’ protection.
The foam expands approximately 1.5 to 2 times its original volume, filling smaller to medium cavities where a controlled, economical expansion is preferred. Once cured, it delivers excellent adhesion to most building materials, including brick, concrete, plaster, metal, and timber.
Its formulation allows for cutting, sawing, or plastering just one hour after application at working temperatures between +5°C and +25°C, supporting efficient progress on active job sites. The 750ml size offers optimal yield for professional use, expanding to approximately 1.2 to 1.5 litres when fully cured.
The gun-grade format offers precise control, reduced waste, and cleaner application compared with hand-held variants.
Features & Benefits
- Moderate Fire Rating: Classified to DIN 4102 Part 1, achieving Class B2 performance for up to two hours’ fire resistance when correctly installed in suitable configurations.
- Controlled Expansion: Expands 1.5 to 2 times its can volume, providing a manageable fill for general-purpose sealing without excessive overflow.
- Fast Curing: Cures rapidly to allow trimming or plastering within one hour of application, minimising downtime on site.
- Strong Adhesion: Bonds securely to most common construction materials including masonry, metal, and timber.
- Acoustic Insulation: Closed-cell structure provides effective sound dampening in addition to its thermal and fire-resistant properties.
- Gun-Grade Application: Designed for use with a foam applicator gun, providing greater accuracy, reduced overspill, and more controlled output than a hand-held version.
- Size – 750ml Can: Expands to approximately 1.2 to 1.5 litres of cured foam, providing efficient coverage from a single unit.
Applications
- Door and Window Installation: Creates a fire-rated seal offering up to two hours’ protection around frames to reduce smoke and flame spread.
- Service Penetrations: Fills gaps around pipes, conduits, and cable entries in walls or floors.
- Structural Gaps and Cavities: Suitable for sealing smaller or moderate-width joints in concrete, stone, brick, and plaster.
- Thermal and Acoustic Insulation: Used behind cladding, soffit, and barge boards to reduce heat loss and noise transmission.
- Joint Systems: Recommended for use with Everbuild FIREMATE Intumescent Sealant to maximise fire resistance in rated assemblies.
Installation Guidance
- Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, sound, and lightly moistened to promote adhesion and controlled expansion.
- Application Method: Attach the can to a compatible foam gun, shake vigorously, and apply foam with controlled trigger pressure to fill voids evenly.
- Curing and Finishing: Allow to cure for approximately one hour before cutting, trimming, or plastering over the foam.
- Temperature Range: Apply only within +5°C to +25°C, with 20°C as the optimal working temperature.
- Storage and Handling: Store upright in original packaging at the recommended temperature, away from direct sunlight or frost.
Compliance & Performance
- Fire Classification: Meets DIN 4102 Part 1 and BS476 Part 20 standards, rated Class B2 with up to two hours’ fire resistance in appropriate configurations.
- Test Certification: Tested under BS476 Part 20 fire conditions for two-hour classification.
- Material Composition: One-component polyurethane formulation with a medium-density closed-cell structure for strength and controlled expansion.
- Performance Range: Expands 1.5 to 2 times its original volume, providing stable, low-stress fill with excellent adhesion.
- Important Note: Use only in well-ventilated areas and avoid contact with skin or eyes during application. Always observe fire safety, curing, and temperature guidelines.

How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
