How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.

Product Overview
Bostik SBR is a modified styrene-butadiene copolymer latex designed to improve the performance of cement-based mixes. It functions as a bonding agent, primer, and waterproofing additive, significantly enhancing adhesion, flexibility, and resistance to water ingress.
The formulation toughens and densifies mortars, screeds, and renders, improving their durability and resistance to abrasion and chemical attack. When incorporated correctly, it produces stronger, more water-resistant surfaces ideal for both internal and external applications.
Widely used in waterproof rendering, flooring, tanking, bedding, and concrete repair, Bostik SBR provides a reliable method of upgrading the performance of traditional cementitious materials in demanding site conditions.
Features & Benefits
- Enhanced durability: Strengthens and toughens screeds, renders, and mortars for long-lasting performance and reduced cracking.
- Waterproofing performance: Improves impermeability, providing effective protection against moisture ingress in exposed or damp conditions.
- Chemical resistance: Increases resistance to many industrial and environmental chemicals, extending the service life of the cement matrix.
- Abrasion resistance: Enhances surface hardness and wear resistance, ideal for floors and exposed concrete.
- Superior bonding strength: Acts as an effective primer and bonding aid between new and existing materials, improving overall adhesion.
- Versatile application range: Suitable for bonding slurries, screeds, renders, pointing, and concrete repair.
- External suitability: Formulated for optimal performance in outdoor and exposed environments, maintaining integrity under varying weather conditions.
- Mix compatibility: Designed for compatibility with cement and sand-based systems, improving cohesion and workability in both new and repair applications.
Applications
- Bonding slurry: Used as a cement-SBR slurry for improved adhesion of screeds, toppings, coatings, and renders to prepared surfaces.
- Floor toppings and screeds: Enhances bond strength and durability in sand-cement screeds, both below and above 12mm in thickness.
- External waterproof renders: Enables production of waterproof renders by combining with cement and sand, offering long-term resistance to moisture.
- Suction control: Mixed with water and brushed onto absorbent surfaces to regulate suction before applying new coatings or mortars.
- Concrete repair: Serves as a bonding agent on concrete with exposed reinforcement, ensuring strong adhesion for patch repairs.
- Pointing and bedding: Improves the cohesion and adhesion of mortar mixes for pointing and bedding applications in masonry and paving.
Installation Guidance
- Surface preparation: All surfaces must be sound, clean, and free from contaminants such as dust, oil, or laitance before application.
- Bonding slurry mixing: Combine cement and Bostik SBR to a stiff, brushable consistency and apply to damp, pre-wetted substrates.
- Mix proportioning: Use within the manufacturer’s recommended mix ratios to achieve the required strength and flexibility.
- Application timing: Apply new mortar, render, or screed while the bonding slurry remains tacky to ensure a monolithic bond.
- Water control: Do not over-dilute with water, as this can reduce film formation and waterproofing performance.
- Curing: Protect freshly applied mixes from rapid drying and frost to ensure full curing and optimal mechanical strength.
Compliance & Performance
- Material type: Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) latex polymer emulsion for cement modification.
- Performance improvement: Enhances bond strength, flexibility, chemical and water resistance, and overall durability of cement-based systems.
- Compatibility: Suitable for use with Portland cement and standard construction-grade sand.
- External performance: Proven resistance to weathering and moisture exposure in external environments.
- Important note: Do not apply over contaminated, friable, or frozen surfaces. Always refer to the Bostik Health & Safety Data Sheet and follow site-specific safety procedures during use.
