How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.

Product Overview
Blue Circle Quality Assured Mortar Mix supplied in a 20kg bag is a pre-blended, ready-to-use mortar designed for bricklaying, blockwork, and general masonry repairs.
Formulated from a controlled blend of cement, fine graded sand, and additives, it provides a consistent, high-quality mix that only requires the addition of clean water.
The mix delivers strong adhesion, smooth workability, and reliable setting characteristics suitable for both interior and exterior use. Engineered for convenience and performance, it ensures even strength development and durable results across varied site conditions.
Features & Benefits
- Pre-blended composition: Contains cement, sand, and performance additives to ensure uniform consistency and quality.
- Reliable strength development: Designed to achieve dependable compressive strength suitable for standard masonry construction.
- Enhanced adhesion: Provides strong bond strength to brick, block, and stone surfaces for stable and durable joints.
- Consistent workability: Delivers a smooth, workable mix that spreads and trowels easily, supporting efficient application.
- Weather durability: Suitable for use in both internal and external conditions once fully cured.
- Time-saving preparation: Requires only the addition of clean water, eliminating the need for on-site batching or measuring.
- Controlled setting time: Offers sufficient working time for alignment and finishing before curing begins.
Applications
- Bricklaying and blockwork: Suitable for general masonry construction and wall building.
- Pointing and repair: Ideal for repointing joints and carrying out patch repairs in existing mortar.
- Stonework and paving edges: Provides a uniform jointing mortar for bedding or repairing paving slabs and natural stone.
- Internal and external use: Formulated for use in sheltered or exposed applications with consistent performance.
Installation Guidance
- Surface preparation: Ensure all masonry units are clean, sound, and free from loose material, dust, or oil.
- Mixing: Empty the contents into a clean mixing container and add clean water gradually, mixing until a smooth, workable consistency is achieved.
- Application: Apply using a trowel, jointing tool, or suitable pointing iron depending on the task. Avoid re-tempering or over-watering the mix once set has begun.
- Finishing: Tool or shape joints as required before the mortar fully hardens to achieve the desired profile.
- Curing: Protect freshly applied mortar from rain, frost, and rapid drying for at least 24 hours.
- Cleaning: Clean tools and mixing equipment immediately after use with clean water.
Compliance & Performance
- Composition: Factory-blended mixture of cement, graded sand, and workability enhancers.
- Performance standard: Manufactured to conform with BS EN 998-2 for masonry mortars.
- Compressive strength: Typically achieves a strength class of M4 under standard curing conditions.
- Colour: Natural light grey, matching typical cementitious finishes.
- Shelf life: Up to 12 months when stored unopened in dry conditions, off the ground, and protected from moisture.
- Health and safety: Contains cement; avoid skin and eye contact and wear suitable protective equipment when mixing.
- Important note: Do not add further cement or admixtures. Use only clean water and do not mix or apply in temperatures below +5°C.
